I was fortunate enough to work on the HBO series THE SOPRANOS for the crucial second season. The ground breaking mob family series had just reached it's initial success, so greater attention was paid to the print advertising for the next season.
A special photo shoot by photographer Albert Watson with the cast yielded a rich assortment of photography.
Following an early round concept I had using black and white imagery, I designed a series of print ads using notable character quotes from the show. Part of the appeal of the show was the writing, so I emphasized that with a series of ads highlighting different characters and their dialog.
The SOPRANOS logo is given a blood red color to pop from the duotone styled ad.
